CLS is currently accepting applications for the following positions on both the UNC and Duke teams:
Deputy Director
The Deputy Director will work together with the Director to oversee all aspects of the conference, and in the event of the Director's absence, will stand in to perform all functions of the Directors described above.
Fundraising Chair
The Fundraising Chair shall work in conjunction with Duke's Fundraising Chair to procure the funds required to run the conference each year. The Fundraising Chair shall be responsible for drafting the appropriate paperwork in support of internal and external grants. Responsibilities also include negotiating department sponsorships, applying for student congress funding, managing a crowdfunding campaign (GlobalGiving), and procuring other outside sponsorships and private donations.
Publicity & Outreach Chair
The Publicity & Outreach Chair, in conjunction with the Duke Chair, shall conduct marketing and promotional activities for the conference, publicizing the conference on the Duke and UNC campuses as well as to universities across the U.S., China and other countries. Responsibilities include holding information sessions on campus, managing social media accounts and website content, reaching out to relevant departments at UNC and other institutions, and developing an alumni ambassador program.
Logistics Chair
The Logistics Chair updates the delegate conference application, actively manages any Google Forms to ensure that applications are processed accurately and efficiently and ensures delegates' questions are answered promptly on email or Facebook. This chair also manages conference operations, including housing, meals, and transportation for delegates and speakers, and secures the conference venues, maintaining relationships with partner hotels, restaurants, and transportation companies.
Treasurer
The Treasurer is responsible for managing the conference's financial matters. The Treasurer is required to pass the annual Student Congress Treasurers Test and to undergo an officer orientation session. The Treasurer will also work closely with the conference's Fundraising Chair to determine a budget for the conference and to help secure sponsorships. Other responsibilities also include but are not limited to transferring funds to the conference's accounts, arranging payments to the conference's partners, attending finance-related meetings and providing monthly financial reports to the Executive Team.
Graphic Designer
The Graphic Designer will produce designs for conference and publicity materials. These items include but are not limited to promotional materials for funding and delegate recruitment, online banners and ads, and informational pamphlets. Individuals applying for this position should be proficient in programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Team Positions
Individuals seeking a more flexible time commitment are welcome to apply to be a member of the Executive Board as members of the Finance, Publicity and Outreach, or Logistics teams. These individuals take direction from their committee chairs, but nonetheless play an important role in the conference's direction and execution. Those seeking a team position should specify their team of choice in their application.

- be willing to commit 1-4 hours a week (depending on role) and up to 8 hours a week in the month leading up to the conference.

The team will conduct the crucial job of growing the conference's reputation in the United States and internationally as well as attracting promising delegates to the conference. Responsibilities include holding information sessions on campus, managing social media accounts and website content, reaching out to relevant university departments, and developing an alumni ambassador program.
- The Logistics team manages the nuts and bolts of conference, scrounging the best grub and buses for the best price possible. Logistics arranges housing, meals, and transportation for delegates and speakers, and secures the conference venues. The Logistics team members maintains relationships with partner hotels, restaurants, and venues.
