Director James is a junior at Duke University majoring in Economics with a concentration in Finance, and minoring in Earth & Climate Sciences. Born and raised in a Chinese household in New Jersey, his exposure to both Chinese and American culture and ideologies have fueled his keen interest in economic, political, and cultural ties between the United States and China. In his free time, James enjoys playing the piano and oboe, composing, learning about aviation, and watching sci-fi movies and shows. |

Anson Chen
Deputy Director Xuan (Anson) Chen is a Master of Public Policy student at Duke's Sanford School of Public Policy. He completed his undergraduate studies at UNC-Chapel Hill, majoring in Asian Studies with minors in Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Real Estate. After immigrating to the U.S. at age 8, he continued learning Mandarin and deepened his knowledge of Chinese culture and history. In his free time, he enjoys practicing Chinese calligraphy. |

Erin Kim
Fundraising Chair Erin is a junior at Duke University majoring in Public Policy and Economics. Born in South Korea and raised across Hong Kong, South Korea, and Australia, she has always been interested in China’s growing influence in Asia, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region. She is passionate about understanding how China is shaping the global landscape and is actively developing her proficiency in Chinese. In her free time, Erin enjoys traveling and reading. |

Alayna Shu
Logistics Chair Alayna is a sophomore at Duke University majoring in Economics with a minor in Environmental Science & Policy. As a dual citizen of Hong Kong and the United States, she is particularly interested in how the dynamic relationship and tensions between the world’s two largest economies - China and the United States - will shape the global economic landscape. In her free time, Alayna enjoys playing the violin and is a part of the Duke Symphony Orchestra and the Cialde Quartet. |

Max Nobel
Publicity Chair Max Nobel is a Master of Public Policy student at Duke. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Reed College, where he majored in Economics and minored in Chinese Literature. He is animated by understanding the flow of capital, technology, and ideas across borders and the role that cross-cultural exchange plays in grasping our evolving relationships to global economic structures. He hopes to facilitate both economic and cultural connections between China and the United States. In his free time, Max can be found reviewing movies, writing poetry, baking pastries, and going for long runs. Max is from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. |

Yixuan Jiang
Publicity Chair Yixuan is a Master of Liberal Studies student at Duke. Having lived in both China and the U.S., she’s personally drawn to questions of identity and cultural exchange. Academically, her work explores migrant literature and East Asian cultural studies, with a focus on how Buddhist spiritual practices are shaped by and respond to different political contexts. When she’s not deep in books, you’ll likely find her planning her next trip, binge-watching zombie series, or enjoying a quiet moment with bubble tea. |

Tanya Wan
Attendee Relations Chair Tanya Wan is a sophomore at Duke University majoring in English and Political Science, and minoring in Statistical Science. Raised in Hong Kong, she is broadly interested in East Asian politics and U.S.-China relations, and is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. In her free time, Tanya loves to read, write, and spend time exploring new restaurants with friends. |

Weiyee Mock
Attendee Relations Team Weiyee is a freshman at Duke University, majoring in psychology and global health. She grew up in the diverse environment of NYC, where she was especially connected to Chinatown and Asian communities. She embraces multiculturalism and has a passion for promoting equity and opportunity for immigrant communities. Weiyee is particularly interested in the intersections of immigration, employment, and education between the U.S. and China. Her academic interests also extend to exploring cross-cultural influences in healthcare systems and therapeutics. In her free time, Weiyee indulges in many side quests, including but not limited to staying active, photography, chess, and café hopping. |

Charreko (CJ) Walker
Fundraising Team Charreko is a master’s student in Political Science at Duke University, originally from rural southern Virginia. His interest in U.S.–China relations stems from a deep awareness of how the decisions made by these two global powers profoundly influence everyday life—from economic opportunities to technological access. His current research examines how artificial intelligence is transforming strategic competition between the United States and China, with a focus on how emerging technologies affect security, deterrence, and global stability. Outside of academia, Charreko enjoys mentoring aspiring scholars, exploring local bookstores, and hitting the gym. |

Huixin (Helen) Jin
Fundraising Team Helen is a Freshman at Duke University majoring in Global Health with a Certificate in Health Policy. Although raised in Guangdong, China, she came from an indigenous Tujia ethnic group and studied the impact of traditional herbal medicine on immune health during high school. This has fueled her interest in Health Policy and Management and her dedication to promoting public health services for underserved communities globally. In her free time, Helen can be found playing volleyball and surfing waves in the summer, and navigating snowy slopes in winter. |

Fundraising Team Celina is a freshman at Duke University majoring in Biology with minors in Global Health and Finance. Her interest in U.S.-China relations stems from a passion for healthcare and firsthand experience observing the strengths and gaps in both countries’ systems through internships and research experiences. She is especially curious about how the current geopolitical landscape may shape the future of healthtech innovation and cross-border collaboration. His passion is for international economics, specifically China's role in the ever-changing global markets. He spent this past summer working in Singapore, where he explored the dynamics of U.S.–Asia economic relations and the future of cross-border collaboration in business and policy. Logistics Chair Yufei Li is a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, double majoring in Economics and Statistics with a minor in Business. Originally from China, she is deeply interested in U.S.–China relations, especially how economic and financial interactions shape global markets and cross-cultural understanding. Drawing on her background in finance and data analysis, Yufei hopes to explore how collaboration between the two countries can promote sustainable and inclusive growth. Jordi Bartolome
Fundraising Chair, Treasurer Jordi Bartolome is a Sophomore at UNC Chapel Hill, double-majoring in Global Studies and Business with a minor in Chinese language. Jordi was born in Singapore and raised in Chapel Hill, NC. He is passionate about international relations, with a focus on relations between the US, Latin America, and China. Jordi is fluent in Spanish and has studied Chinese for over eight years. This past summer, he studied intensive Chinese in Beijing at the Princeton in Beijing Program. He has also studied abroad in South Korea and Spain. He has worked to foster Chinese studies in NC by participating in programs such as UNC STARTALK. Outside of school, Jordi is an avid runner and tennis player and enjoys traveling. |

Logistics Team Tianlai is a sophomore at UNC Chapel Hill majoring in Information Science. A international student From Shanghai, China. His interests center on how information can help people make better decisions and on the digital information exposome, the spectrum of digital exposures that shape individual and societal outcomes. He is also building ventures focused on cross-border travel and intercultural exchange, aiming to make global experiences more accessible. Tianlai is also a member of the UNC men’s rowing team. Fundraising Team Adam BenMoshe is originally from Raleigh and is now Sophomore at UNC Chapel Hill. He’s pursuing a double major in Business Administration and Global Studies, with a minor in Linguistics. Coming from a multinational family, Adam is extremely passionate about world geography and culture. He’s particularly interested in international economies, and the ripple effects of China-U.S. relations felt around the world. Adam’s main hobbies include long-distance runs, coding basic games, and studying foreign languages. He describes himself as happiest while abroad and always seeks out opportunities to broaden his knowledge of the world beyond the United States’ borders. Fundraising Team Emilie Garrabrant is a first-year Morehead-Cain Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying economics and international development. Drawing from her experience working in microfinance and financial inclusion, she researches and explores China's relationship with the U.S. and emerging economies across the globe. She previously studied abroad in Taipei for a summer on the U.S. State Department NSLI-Y Scholarship. In her free time, she enjoys visiting family in Singapore to understand her biracial heritage, watching philosophical debates, and designing garments. |

Highland Martin
Publicity and Outreach Team Highland Martin is a sophomore at UNC double majoring in Asian Studies and Economics. This past summer, she studied and interned at Fudan Universities International Office in Shanghai, China, where she was invited by the Shanghai Institute of American Studies to attend the commemorative ceremony “History Illuminates the Present, Cooperation Lights the Future,” marking the 80th anniversary of Sino-US WWII cooperation. During her time as an intern, Highland also volunteered with Stepping Stones, a non-profit focused on supporting migrant children’s education through English instruction and curriculum development. She is fascinated with the way China's engagements with the United States coincide with countries who are partnered with the Belt and Road Initiative, and how this will develop further trade routes. In Highland's free time, she likes cooking for her friends, going on campus jogs, and trying out new coffee variations to brew. |
