The Hopkins-Nanjing Center for Chinese and American Studies (HNC) opened in 1986 as a one-of-a-kind graduate center for international studies in China. An educational collaboration between the Johns Hopkins University and Nanjing University, it is located on the downtown campus of Nanjing University. Chinese and international students live and learn international relations together in a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to free and open academic exploration and intellectual dialogue. The HNC upholds the highest academic standards in the pursuit of educating future leaders. International students take most of their courses in Chinese taught by Chinese faculty, while Chinese students are taught by international faculty with courses primarily in English. This target language curriculum is a unique feature of the HNC program that gives our graduates a strong competitive edge in the increasingly dynamic world of Sino-global relations.

The Phillips Ambassadors Program is one of the most gen-erous and flexible scholarships for undergraduate study abroad at Carolina. The scholarship combines a financial award, an academic course, and a charge to students to share their unique study abroad experience with young people in their hometowns and with the Carolina community. In an effort to foster relations in Asian Studies between UNC and Duke University, the Phillips Ambassadors Program offers up to two scholarships each summer to qualifying Duke undergraduate students.

TorchLight Foundation is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2016 in Hong Kong and New York. The vision of TorchLight Foundation is to promote a deeper understanding of the U.S. and China, and communication and collaboration between the two countries from educational perspectives. The TorchLight Foundation participates in and organizes two programs: "TorchLight China Internship Program" and "U.S.-China Relations Conference."

Created through a partnership between Duke University, Wuhan University, and the city of Kunshan, Duke Kunshan University provides a Duke education expanded and enhanced by an in-depth China experience. Offering Masters programs in Environmental Policy, Management Studies, Medical Physics, and Global Health, Duke Kunshan offers distinct curriculum, access to research centers or industry partners, and a multicultural experience. Kunshan lies in the heart of the Yangtze River Delta Region, one of the most dev-eloped areas in China, with close proximity to Shanghai and Suzhou. Our graduate programs award Duke University degrees.

Featuring credit courses plus optional business practicum, Duke in China was inaugurated in 1982 and is one of the longest-running credit-granting programs in China administered by an American university. Based at the prestigious University of International Business and Economics in Beijing (UIBE), the program offers an intensive (two credits for 8 or 10 weeks of study) summer language program based in Beijing. UIBE is located in the Chaoyang District of Beijing, which is convenient to downtown, and has a modern, well-designed, picturesque campus. Rated as one of the top universities in China according to the Ministry of Education, UIBE is an academic institution with a reputation for excellence in teaching and research in the fields of international trade, business, and economics.
